Comprehensive Eye Exams in Leominster

Eye Exams in Leominster, MAHave you Had Your Annual Eye Exam?

Whether you're 9 or 99, everyone needs regular eye check-ups to make sure everything is okay with your eyes.

Why DO you need routine eye exams?

While most people who notice worsening eyesight or vision problems will call the eye doctor, the AOA (American Optometric Association) recommends an eye exam every 1 to 3 years even if your eyes seems A-OK.

Children's eye exams:

Learning is heavily dependent upon vision, so it's absolutely necessary to make sure your little student's eyesight is up to par. School screenings may be mandatory, and obviously a child who "fails" a vision screening needs to have his or her eyes examined by an eye doctor, but even the ones who "pass" should get a comprehensive eye exam every year or two.

In addition to evaluating a child's prescription, there are a host of eye conditions that commonly affect children, many of which often go undetected unfortunately. Children naively assume that "everyone sees just like me" which can lead to overlooked eye issues. At Valentine Eye Care, our eye doctors make sure to test for those most common causes of vision problems. For more information about it, see Pediatric Eye Exams.

Routine Eye Exams for Adults

Although adults usually have a better sense of eyesight problems than children might, so they know to book an eye exam when they can't see clearly, there are a number of progressive eye diseases that are symptom-free during the early – and most treatable – stages of the disease, like glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.

That's why we examine your eyes inside and out at Valentine Eye Care. At our Leominster, MA eye doctor's office, our eye doctors conduct various eye tests and eye exams to determine your prescription accurately, evaluate how your eyes work together to help you see, and check for common eye conditions and eye diseases. Some of the tests will require patient input, like reading from the Snellen eye chart, and others will be passive. Comprehensive eye exams in Leominster, MA are truly comprehensive.
